Stacey J. Nagle, FCPA, FCA

For over 22 years, Stacey Nagle has built a reputation at Deloitte as both a mentor and a champion for enhanced standards for audit quality and corporate reporting. She guided the firm through its “Quality” journey as a charter member on its Audit Quality Board, and has pioneered the discussion on “The Future of Corporate Reporting”. In 2007, she was a founding member of Deloitte’s Canadian Women’s Initiatives Network, which helps women maximize their potential. She currently sits on the Canadian Performance Reporting Board of CPA Canada and was a board member of the Ernestine’s Women’s Shelter where, as treasurer, she used her skills to help the organization provide support and shelter for women and children escaping violence.

Sanjay Nirula, FCPA, FCA

Since co-founding Gera & Nirula in 2004, Sanjay Nirula has grown both his and his clients’ businesses. The company’s revenue has almost tripled, as he’s helped clients grow from small start-ups to multimillion-dollar enterprises. Prior to joining Gera & Nirula, Sanjay held leadership positions in the transportation and travel industries. Giving back to the profession, he has served on CPA Ontario’s Professional Conduct Committee since 2011. In addition to serving as a governing council member of the University of Toronto Mississauga, Sanjay also volunteers at Aim for Seva, which raises funds to build hostels in rural India for underprivileged children. In 2010, he and his wife climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for an Indian hostel-school for 50 students.

Lois L. Norris, FCPA, FCA

Lois Norris is the current CFO of InvestorCOM Inc., which provides technology and outsourcing services to the financial services industry. Since joining InvestorCOM a year ago, she has re-organized the finance function and revamped its financial reporting practices, providing improved business insight. Prior to InvestorCOM, Lois was CFO of Communitech Corporation, a private-public partnership driven by the mission to help tech companies. She was instrumental in Communitech’s rapid scale-up, playing a key role on the executive team. She’s a board member and treasurer of SHAD Canada, and the Waterloo Chapter of the International Women’s Forum. In addition, she is on the board of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, and actively participates in senior finance peer groups in Waterloo’s technology sector.

Lori M. O’Neill, FCPA, FCA

Lori O’Neill is Board Director and Audit and Risk Management Committee Chair of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG). OLG contributes billions to Ontario annually, making Lori’s role integral to OLG’s performance and the execution of its multi-year modernization strategy. Lori is also Board Director and Audit Committee Chair/Member of Defence Construction Canada, Pythian Group and Hydro Ottawa. Lori currently consults to growth companies, after serving 17 years as partner of Deloitte in various leadership roles. She is a judge for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year and often speaks on governance and financial matters. She volunteers at numerous community organizations, as Board Director of University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Ashbury College, Startup Canada and Institute of Corporate Directors (Ottawa Chapter).

Benjamin J. Parr, FCPA, FCA

Co-CEO and Managing Director and a member of its Board of Directors, Benjamin Jeffrey Parr joined Clairvest Group Inc. in 1995. Jeff has been instrumental in the development of Clairvest into a respected leader in the private equity investment community. From an asset base of approximately $50 million, Clairvest now has over $1.7 billion in assets under management and Clairvest has won the CVCA “Deal of the Year” in five of the last 10 years. A supporter of numerous causes, Jeff volunteers as a lecturer at the Schulich School of Business, and is a member of the University of Western Ontario President’s Council and the Shaw Theatre Boxing Event Committee. He also established the Moncton Fallen RCMP Officers Education Fund.

Lorianne Pearson, FCPA, FCA

Lori Pearson is the Chief Operating Officer of Brookfield Asset Management. Brookfield has a market capitalization of over $40 billion, with $260 billion (US) of assets under management. As COO, Lori oversees the functions related to the operations of the business and is responsible for optimizing performance as the business continues to expand. She’s a member of the Social and Human Capital Accounting Project with the A4S CFO Leadership Network, which measures social and human capital, and was a keynote speaker at the inaugural Ivey Momentum Women in Management Conference. Lori also volunteers as a Vice-Chair and Director of Pathways to Education and as Deputy Chair and Member of Private Equity HR Network.

Allison A. Peart, FCPA, FCA

As EY’s Managing Partner and Tax Partner in Jamaica, Allison Peart has grown the practice exponentially. Allison is a Council Member and Tax Committee Chair for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ), and she is assisting with Jamaica’s tax reform, while establishing an MOU between Tax Administration Jamaica and ICAJ to ensure that Jamaica has a well-functioning and world-class tax system. Allison’s many volunteer efforts include being the first female President of the Rotary Club of Kingston Jamaica, a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Manor Park, Finance Chair for the Mona School of Business & Management (UWI Mona), board member for Junior Achievement Jamaica and a member of the executive of the International Women’s Forum in Jamaica.

Francine Picotte-Blackburn, FCPA, FCA

Francine P. Blackburn’s career is filled with accomplishments in both business and non-for-profit sectors. She recently retired as RBC’s EVP Regulatory & Government Affairs and Chief Compliance Officer, and remains Chair of the Audit & Evaluation Committee for the Government of Canada’s Public Services and Procurement Canada, as well as Governor for North York General Hospital. Recognized as a leader in risk management and controls, including internal audit, regulatory compliance and government-related matters, Francine speaks regularly at conferences. Francine continues to be very engaged with McGill University’s Faculty of Management and previously served on the Board of Directors of the Toronto French School.

Frederick W. Pries, FCPA, FCA

Fred Pries is an Associate Professor at the University of Guelph, which he joined after many years as a Partner at KPMG. At the university’s College of Business and Economics, he spearheaded the development and launch of an accounting major. Under his leadership, the program became one of the largest majors in the Commerce program, with over 800 students in 2016-17. Currently, Fred is the Vice-Chair of the Auditing & Assurance Standards Board, helping to develop and monitor its strategic and operating plans. Fred also serves as a Member of the Editorial Board of the Issues in Accounting Education journal and recently retired from the Board of Directors of the Guelph Business Enterprise Centre Inc.

Sharon M. Ranson, FCPA, FCA

Sharon Ranson is President and Founder of The Ranson Group, an executive coaching boutique. She is a highly-regarded and widely sought-after advisor to executives of Fortune 500 companies. Sharon is an experienced corporate director, serving on a variety of public and private boards, including Sprott Inc., Echelon Insurance and Borrowell. Crown appointments include Chair of the Treasury Board of Canada’s Nominating Committee for the Public-Sector Pension Investment Board and the City of Toronto Investment Board. Community boards include the Advisory Board at the Smith School of Business, Queen’s University and the YMCA of GTA’s Campaign Cabinet. Sharon was a panelist on CPA Canada’s Road to Directorship: Women on Boards event and a keynote speaker at its National Conference.

Martin J.K. Ritchie, FCPA, FCA

In 2014, Martin Ritchie was a finalist for EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for co-founding JCM Power, a developer and operator of renewable energy projects in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia and Latin America. As the Chief Risk Officer, Martin interacts with international development banks on anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) matters — a field in which he is considered a leader. He serves as the Co-Chair of the Canadian Centre of Excellence for Anti-Bribery & Corruption, and gives guest lectures to MBA classes on ABC at the University of Ottawa. He’s also a Vice-Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee and a board member at Trillium Gift of Life Network, which supports organ and tissue donation and transplantation across Ontario.
