CPAs holding Conference for Controllers in Toronto March 12-13

(Toronto, ON. – March 11, 2015) – The Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario is holding its annual Conference for Controllers at the International Plaza Hotel in Toronto on March 12 and 13. The conference offers something for those aspiring to controller positions to those who are seasoned professionals.

This year’s conference provides a forum to share ideas, a place to learn the latest developments and an opportunity for accounting to network with peers and colleagues. Presentations include a diverse mix of technical offerings for accountants on everything from transfer pricing and GST-HST issues to financial controls, as well as presentations on “softer” skills related to communications, leadership and negotiating.

Highlights include:

  • An economic update and panel discussion moderated by Kim Parlee, Vice-President, TD Wealth Management and host of Business News Network’s MoneyTalk and featuring top economists from leading Canadian banks: Sal Guatieri of BMO Financial Group, Warren Jestin of Scotiabank and Craig Alexander of TD Bank Group.
  • A presentation by Shawn Casemore of Casemore and Co. on “Managing and Motivating in a Multi-generational Workplace”.
  • Dave Barrett of the Centre of Excellence in Project Management on “From a Good Manager to a Great Leader”.
  • “Powerful and Persuasive Leadership Presence”, presented by Mark Bowden, a communications expert and performance trainer.
