Ian Jeffreys

Ian is a Partner in Audit and Assurance at KPMG London, where, for more than 20 years, he has provided clients with audit and assurance services. He has significant experience in many industry segments, including not-for-profit, municipal, healthcare and manufacturing. Ian is active in his community as Chair of the Board at Huron University College, a board member at the London Chamber of Commerce and a community member of the Human Resources Committee at St. Joseph’s Health Care London.

Stephen McCaughey

Stephen McCaughey, CPA, CMA

Steve is a Senior Consulting Partner with Deloitte. He is Managing Partner of DSpace, Deloitte’s newly created innovation lab based in Kitchener-Waterloo, where Deloitte develops AI, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Generation, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Cyber-security prototypes using Lean Discovery methods. His current interests include all things Digital Innovation, Cloud Services platforms and Quantum computing. He is currently managing teams conducting research on the Future of Work and Future of Learning. A frequent speaker on Digital Finance, Blockchain, and Digital Innovation, Steve holds graduate degrees in Business and in Information Science, holds CFA and CPA designations, and is an accredited Corporate Director. He sits on the CPA Ontario Council, advocates for the profession, and Chairs the Risk Committee.

Tony Pedari

Tony has been at PwC Canada for over 30 years, advising organizations on technology risk management and controls, as well as complex risk and control issues including cybersecurity, cloud computing and automation. He currently leads PwC’s Third Party Trusted Services practice nationally and has been focused on expanding their assurance services, identifying new market opportunities for non-financial assurance with a focus on emerging technologies and digital services. Tony has been a long-serving member on two not-for-profit boards, Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto (AST) and Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research (CANFAR).

Jennifer Roedding

Jennifer is President of Roedding Associates Management Consultants Inc., which provides business transformation expertise to multiple sectors across the country. Her distinguished career in both audit and consulting includes 25 years at KPMG, where she was National Consulting Partner for telecommunications and technology. Jennifer assists clients to achieve improved profitability, efficiency and effectiveness in alignment with their strategies in many areas including finance, procurement, mergers/divestitures and sales. Jennifer is a Director of the holding company of Robarts Clinical Trials Inc. Previously, Jennifer was a board member of London Health Sciences Centre and Vice-President of the London Regional Children’s Museum.

Dan is a lecturer at the University of Waterloo’s School of Accounting and Finance, where he provides his students with the practical perspectives he learned as an entrepreneur. Previously, Dan was the Founder, CEO and CFO of Big Sky Hospitality, which operated 11 Montana’s restaurants. Prior to that, he served as Secretary, Vice-President of Finance and Administration and Acting CFO of Sleeman Breweries, and as Vice-President of Finance of the Swiss Chalet and Harvey’s Divisions of Cara Operations Limited.

Brice Scheschuk

Brice Scheschuk, CPA, CA

Brice Scheschuk is the Managing Partner of Globalive Capital. Prior to this, he was a co-founder and CFO of WIND Mobile and CEO of Globalive Communications. Brice has 25 years’ experience building companies at Globalive, WIND Mobile, Leitch Technology and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He obtained his B.Comm (Hon.) Finance from Dalhousie University. Brice is a member of Treble Victor Group, a not-for-profit focused on networking for military veterans that are transitioning to the civilian workforce. He is an Associate at Creative Destruction Lab Toronto and a mentor at Techstars Toronto and Founder Institute. Brice is a board member of many innovation ecosystem companies and a frequent speaker on scale-up entrepreneurship and innovation.

Benjie Thomas

As the Canadian Managing Partner for KPMG’s Advisory practice, Benjie is responsible for the operational and growth strategies of the firm’s Advisory business. As an adviser, Benjie has almost 20 years of experience assisting Canada’s most prominent private equity funds and strategic buyers. Benjie has advised on some of Canada's largest transactions with a consistent track record of providing sought-after advice and innovative solutions to create success. Benjie also serves as advisory member to The School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) at the University of Waterloo.

Iliana Oris Valiente

Iliana is a Managing Director and Canada Innovation Lead at Accenture Canada, working with senior executives and corporate boards to support their strategic transformations. Previously, she was the Accenture Global Blockchain Innovation lead and continues to run the Canadian business today; she established and oversees the Canada Innovation Hub and the blockchain practice. Iliana has written and spoken at conferences about emerging technologies and their impact on CPAs and is an advocate of the profession’s continued evolution. She is a contributor to the Don Tapscott-led Blockchain Research Institute and an Associate at the Creative Destruction Lab incubator at the University of Toronto.

Michael Cherny

Michael has been a champion of inclusive workplace culture since their involvement in Deloitte Pride began as a summer student back in 2011. Today, as Chief of Staff to the Audit practice at Deloitte, Michael leads small- and large-scale initiatives that breed innovation and drive operational excellence. Throughout their time at Deloitte, Michael has supported and fostered a dialogue of inclusion, exemplified most by their national leadership of the Deloitte Pride Community and contributions to the development of Gender Transitioning Guidelines. In addition to their professional work, Michael currently serves on the board of The 519 and supports CPA Ontario’s Pride involvement, having previously served on multiple non-profit boards and volunteered with Pride Toronto, Start Proud and the Ten Oaks Project.
